TIG is considered one of the most difficult forms of welding for obvious reasons with one of them being that it’s a tedious process and is challenging to master. Other reasons why TIG welding is considered one of the more difficult welding processes to master are below:
- The welder has to be in more control when TIG welding: When TIG welding a welder must be in complete control (or has complete control over everything). TIG welders have control over things such as heating, current, and gas cooling.
- Welders must use both hand and foot when TIG welding: When TIG welding welder use their feet to control amperage (variable amperage control device).
- TIG welding is a slow process: TIG welding is a detailed, slow process so if seed is something you need then using the TIG may be a pain. It takes a bit of time to finish welds when using TIG.
- Welding surface must be clean: TIG welding requires the welding surface to be completely clean. There can be no rust, paint or debris or the weld you’re doing will develop defects.
